GP Challenge in Goričan was a very successful meeting for Matej as he joined SGP series again.
He participate two years in the World Championship in 2006 and 2007, when finishing seventh his first year. Since then he received four Wild Cards, last were in Terenzano and Goričan 2011.
However, Matej now feels much different then five years ago. He said: »At that time, I was the young one who had to fight with much more experienced rivals. Now the vast majority of the riders are my age or even a little younger than me. My new adventure with the Grand Prix is therefore quite different from before.”
A lot fans from Slovenia also came to support his best country rider and Matej was extremely happy to see Slovenian flags waving for him. He said: “I’m very happy to be wearing this flag. I’m a proud Slovenian and I’m very happy to be wearing this flag. It means a lot to me and I will do everything I can to make speedway big in Slovenia.«
