Grand Prix in Bydgoszcz was a sensational for Matej as he reached superb second place in an exciting final heat.
He was ranked in the final as fourth, so the only start position left was blue. He gated well, actually was first out from the corner, but there, on the outside line, was overtaken by Sayfutdinov.
“I knew somebody will be faster on the outside line as there was many more dirt, which provides much more speed. And for the Gollob, I know him very well so I knew excatly what he will do,” commented after the final Matej and added: “I feel fantastic! Second place is excelent achievement, but I would be lying if saying not to be sorry for the win. But if I look on the podium who was beside me, I can be proud as both riders feel on this track like at home and I look forward to the next rounds, where I hope to listen Slovenian national anthem.”
Next Grand Prix is on the 4th of May in Sweden, city Gothenburg: “I never raced on Ullevi stadion, so I’m travelling there completely unburdened with my previous results. Hope I can write a good story there,” describes his following performance Matej.
